Announcing a 90-day, $500 USD credit for getting started with IBM Cloud for VMware Solutions Shared.
In this unprecedented time, businesses must quickly adjust and embrace the situation at hand while ensuring business operations remain constant and reliable. Whether that includes implementing a business continuity strategy, temporarily migrating critical workloads to the cloud, or quickly spinning up a dev/test environment—the time to act is now.
To enable this immediate response, IBM Cloud is providing a no-cost way to start running your VMware workloads in the cloud. We are offering a 90-day, $500 USD credit for getting started with IBM Cloud for VMware Solutions Shared—a self-service, multi-tenant solution for extending VMware workloads to the cloud in a matter of minutes.
What can I use the credit on?
Whether you’re a new or existing client, the credit can be applied to any element of the IBM Cloud for VMware Solutions Shared offering. This includes On-Demand or Reserved consumption models, as well as any Veeam consumption for backup and replication.
What will $500 USD get me?
We understand all needs are different, therefore you can customize the configuration as per your requirements. For example, $500 USD can extend to reserved configuration for a month with 8 vCPU, 32 GB RAM, 500 GB storage, 1 Windows license, 1 RHEL license, 2 Veeam licenses for backup with 200 GB block storage and 500 GB Cloud Object storage, with a sufficient amount of bandwidth. This is only an example configuration, so please use the cost estimator to calculate the actual price before ordering.
Other than compute (vCPU and RAM), all other resources will be charged based on actual consumption once the $500 USD credit is exhausted or the offer expires at 90 days, whichever occurs first.
An On-Demand configuration provides complete flexibility for ordering higher configurations just for a few hours, days, or for a week. No need to reserve compute (vCPU and RAM) in advance.
How long do I have to use the credit?
The $500 USD credit is available for use over 90 days. Once 90 days have passed, the credit will expire, and all costs are the responsibility of the user. Any costs incurred beyond the $500 USD credit prior to the 90-day expiration will also be the responsibility of the user. There is no obligation to continue with the usage of this offer once it expires. If you decide not to continue your service, you must delete your instances prior to the end of the 90 days in order to not be charged. Please follow the instructions on how to do so here.
Redeeming the offer is as easy as 1-2-3
- Step 1: Login or create your IBM Cloud Account. (Note: Be sure your account is upgraded to either a pay-as-you-go or subscription account before proceeding).
- Step 2: Within your account click Manage and select Billing & Usage from the drop-down list.
- Step 3: Select Promotions, enter the code FREE500VM, then click Apply.

According to Gartner (Gartner and Moore), IT teams are dealing with increasing amounts of data and a wider variety of tools to monitor that data.
