On Thursday (Aug 20th) we had a 24hr lock-up with the Extreme Blue and the other interns. This means that we were physically in the office from 10AM on Thursday until 10AM on Friday. A nice social experiment, so to say.
At the end of the regular working day the room was filled with a bunch of energetic students, energy drink ‘Club Mate’ was ubiquitous, and everyone was running all over the place. We played the IBM Extreme Blue foosball play-offs and at the end of the evening the ‘Glamour Couple’ was crowned as official champion. As the night progressed things died down and it became a lot quieter in the office. Until roughly 3 hours before the deadline: people started buzzing around, the ‘Final Countdown’ was playing on repeat and everyone felt the excitement as the deadline came closer and closer. In many ways the 24hr lock-up resembles the experience we have had with our Extreme Blue projects. After an energetic start with the ideation phase and a healthy obsession with foosball games, everyone started feeling comfortable with the timeline. Now, as our projects are coming to an end, you can tell that everyone is running around and feeling the pressure again. With only half a week left until the final client meetings and the IBM Extreme Blue Expo (use code EBexpo15) it is safe to say that the Extreme Blue final countdown has officially started.
