ISSE 2018 – Where world renowned experts in Security and Identity put their thinking to the test

This year, the 20th annual ISSE is being hosted by IBM in Brussels, and on 6th and 7th November 2018 international experts in technology, policy and commerce will convene to share knowledge and expertise, build meaningful relationships and forge strategic alliances and joint ventures. And you are invited to join them.

ISSE is in many ways a unique, unmissable conference. It is a place where some of the most influential industry leaders in information security and identity choose to come, not only to present their vision, but also to put them to the test and show ways of implementing them in European business.

Among the eminent speakers that will present during the two-day event are Kim Cameron, Chief Architect of Identity at Microsoft, Miguel González-Sancho, Head of Unit 1, DG CONNECT, Cybersecurity Technology & Capacity Building, Belgium, and Erno Doorenspleet, Global Executive Security Advisor at IBM. Erno is also part of IBM’s X-Force Command Center which has very recently launched the industry’s first cybersecurity operations centre on wheels, soon coming to a European city near you.

 

Securing future European business through digital transformation

The main theme for ISSE 2018 is digital transformation, which will be addressed in tracks which includes banking and payments industry and Artificial Intelligence, as well as considering the security impact. Expert speakers including Dave Birch the renowned author, advisor and commentator on digital financial services; Jacoba Sieders, Corporate Information Security Officer at ABN AMRO and Daan van den Eshof, Product Manager at Rabobank eBusiness.

 

Tackling cybersecurity and cyberwar

The education-led programme will address some of the very hottest issues on the national news agenda, including ‘State of the Art Cybersecurity Methods and Capabilities’ and ‘Cybersecurity Challenges in 2019 & Beyond’.  A much anticipated keynote is ‘Cyber Warfare: Where Virtual Meets Reality’. It will feature insights from Ariel Chazan, Manager Crisis preparedness and Director National Preparedness Center, National Cyber Directorate, Prime Minister’s Office, Israel.

 

Addressing e-Identity across the EU

Another major topic will be e-identity (eID), following the coming in to force of the eIDAS regulation on 29th September, to enable the cross-border recognition eID, allowing EU citizens and businesses to access online services even if they are from a different Member State.
