Event season is in motion!

If you’re an IT professional looking for education opportunities, this time of year can be busy. Organizations with an infrastructure built on IBM Z and LinuxONE technologies are excited about the upcoming SHARE conference in Sacramento, California.

SHARE is a volunteer-run IT association that provides education, professional networking and industry influence. It holds several events throughout the year to offer education around IBM Z and LinuxONE, pervasive encryption, cloud, enterprise security, DevOps and other hot topics among enterprise technology leaders. The next SHARE conference is coming right up on March 11 to 18 in Sacramento.

Representatives from IBM Systems Lab Services – IBM Z and LinuxONE will be speaking on some of these topics at the upcoming SHARE conference on in Sacramento. As an experienced group of IT consultants with proven expertise on the IBM Z and LinuxONE platforms, Lab Services is well positioned to deliver informative sessions that can help clients design and implement highly available z/OS, zVM, KVM and Linux infrastructure solutions.

Here’s a preview of what our thought leaders will be discussing this month at SHARE:

Networking diagnostics: What you need to know

Senior Management IT Consultant Joe Welsh will be presenting “Introduction to Network Diagnostics” on Monday, March 12 at 12:30 pm. This introductory session will help you learn how to diagnose configuration, routing and sysplex problems in your environment using z/OS Communications Server.

Getting started with Linux Audit

Richard Young, an Executive IT Specialist in Lab Services, will present two topics related to the Linux platform.

On Wednesday, March 14 at 10:00 am, he will present getting started with Linux Audit. If you’ve ever needed to know who deleted or changed a file, but you can’t rely on shell history to tell you what happened, you might be interested in learning how to produce Linux audit data and reports.

Simplifying Linux deployments with IBM Dynamic Partition Manager

On Thursday, March 15, at 4:30 pm, Richard will be talking about IBM Dynamic Partition Manager (DPM). DPM provides a truly simplified way to manage IBM Z partitions, enabling you to create, configure, deploy and dynamically modify logical partitions (LPARs) in your Linux-only environment.

Of course, there will be many more technical sessions at SHARE, as well as an expo (Lab Services is in booth #321) and plenty of networking opportunities. If you’re attending SHARE Sacramento, we hope to see you there!
